2019 Sunshine State Showdown Recap
DAYTONA BEACH, FL – The 4th Annual Sunshine State Showdown once again drew the top travel programs and players from the state of Florida as well as special guest All Iowa Attack. What was initially started in line with the NCAA recruiting calendar as a certified event when Women’s Basketball added an additional April evaluation weekend, has now turned into the states top in state event, serving as a warmup event to the April certified event weekend.
The 2019 edition drew 45 teams across six divisions in a showcase format in Daytona Beach, FL at the Vince Carter Athletic Center. Co-hosts Miami Suns and Essence welcomed in state programs Central Florida Elite, Tampa Thunder, FGB, Orlando Basketball Club, Hollywood Eagles, NSL, South Beach Elite. In addition to the Florida programs, they also welcomed the South Georgia Jackets and the defending Nike National Champions brought 4 teams showcasing an excellent display of passing, ball movement, screening, cutting and probably most impressive perimeter shooting!

Without a shadow of a doubt was the best player in the gym all weekend. The 6’0 point guard can literally do it all. She is a deadly outside shooter, savvy passer, poised ball handler who can get to the rim and puts her defender on her hip pocket and is an incredible finisher at the rim. She controlled all aspects of the game as well as the tempo in all 5 of All Iowa’s victories. It was a magnificence display of basketball by her and her teammates and no wonder why she is a consensus top 25 prospect and led her team to the 2018 Nike EYBL National Championship. Whatever college she chooses is getting an absolute gem and a joy to watch!

The versatile post was a force in both sides of the basketball. Leading her team to a 5-0 record while serving as the teams leading scorer and rebounder over the course of the weekend. She was very active and played hard on every possession constantly running the floor in transition and going to the boards aggressively. She has a nice touch and plays very unselfish, setting screens to get teammates open as well as willing to make extra pass to go from a good shot to a great shot. Love her motor. Has a chance to be a high level BCS player.
